Tips For Holiday Eating

Cookies and Cake and Pie, Oh My!

It’s that time of year again – holiday parties, family gatherings, and social outings. These can be stressful situations when you are trying to eat healthier and keep off the weight. Here are a few easy tips to get through this gluttonous season.

Plan Ahead

If you know you're going somewhere with plenty of food temptations, eat before you go.

Proteins & Veggies

Need to bring a dish? Don't know what to order? Proteins and veggies are your friends (and very filling)!

Know The Menu

Know what's going to be on the menu to help you plan accordingly.

Balance

Too much of something makes you crave another. Eat veggies, but also have a bite of the cake.

Breathe

Take deep breaths before you eat - this takes less than 2 minutes. It help will turn off stress and trick the brain into turning on digestion.

Small Bites

Slow down and take smaller bites. This will help you feel full and satisfied quicker.

Water

Drink a glass of water about 30 minutes before you eat. This will aid digestion and make you feel fuller.

Stay calm & try not to stress

Have a drink, have a snack ... enjoy everything in moderation. Stressing will only increase cravings.

The holidays are a time to enjoy friends, family and food.
